Christine De Jonghe, MS
Registered Dietician, Licensed Dietician Nutritionist
I am an experienced weight-inclusive, Health at Every Size® aligned, non-diet dietitian that has a passion for nurturing a balanced and peaceful relationship to food and body. I specialize in working with teenagers, young adults, adults, and athletes of all ages and abilities seeking support from chronic dieting, disordered eating, and eating disorders.
With ample nutrition misinformation and pseudo-science plaguing today’s media and social media landscape it can be difficult to figure out how to nourish our bodies in a way that supports wholistic health. Working with me, you will explore the origins of your eating and exercise behaviors, recognize your unique barriers to change, and create a personalized plan to help you in your goal for better health.
My practice philosophy is rooted in mindfulness, intuitive eating principles and body positivity. My practice style is compassionate, patient, and encouraging that enmeshes nutrition science, body acceptance, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to provide practical strategies for healing your relationship with food, exercise, and body image. Together you’ll work on shifting focus from weight to well-being while you explore how to nourish your body by reconnecting to your inner senses to help rebuild trust in yourself and find autonomy over your food choices.
I have worked as a registered dietitian for 20 years and in addition to private practice, my passion for nutrition education takes me into the classroom teaching Nutrition Science at the University of Pennsylvania. I also have extensive experience presenting to medical doctors, athletic clubs, schools, business groups on topics of sports nutrition, eating disorders, weight stigma, and intuitive eating.
Outside of my professional work you will find me enjoying the greater Philadelphia outdoors, competing in triathlons, traveling and seeing my favorite musicians, and playing with my two labradoodle fur babies.
